GeoLeaks - Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 4, 2025

We made this super simple:
GeoLeaks does not collect, save, or share any of your personal data.

1. No Data Collection

The app is designed to show you information from your device. All the data you see (like your IP address, network details, or locale settings) is fetched and displayed on your screen only. It never leaves your phone and is not stored or sent to us or any third party.

2. How the App Works

To show you this information, the app needs to make some standard internet requests to external services. For example:

  • It checks your public IP address by contacting a service like ipinfo.io.
  • It measures network latency by connecting to servers from providers like Amazon Web Services.

These are necessary for the app to function and are the same kind of requests your web browser makes every day. We do not log or track these requests.

3. Permissions Are Optional

GeoLeaks is designed to work without needing any special permissions. However, there are two optional features:

  • Location Permission: If you press the "Request Location" button, the app will ask for one-time access to your location. This is only to display your current coordinates to you, on your screen. We don't save or see this data. If you don't press the button, the app will never ask for your location.
  • Local Network Permission: When checking for your LAN gateway, your iPhone might ask for permission to scan the local network. You can deny this. The app should still work and will even show some data about your network (that other apps could see without this permission).

4. Feedback

If you choose to send us feedback via email, we will see your email address and the information you provide, just like any other email you send. This is only used to communicate with you about your suggestion or issue.

Your privacy is the entire point of this app. We're committed to keeping it that way.
