Nourish - Privacy Policy

We made this super simple:
Nourish does not collect, save, or share any of your personal data.

1. Everything Happens On Your iPhone

Nourish scans nutrition labels using your device's own camera and Apple's on-device recognition. The app has no servers, no analytics, no ads, no user accounts, and makes no network requests of its own. Your photos are analyzed on your phone and never leave it.

2. What Stays On Your Device

The following data is created and stored only on your iPhone:

  • Photos and scans — label photos you capture or pick are analyzed on-device and saved to the app's private storage for your scan history.
  • Your plan details — sex, age, height, weight, activity level, and goal, entered during onboarding to calculate your daily targets.
  • Scan history and preferences — stored in the app's local database.

This data is included in your device backups (iCloud or local) according to your own iOS backup settings, under Apple's backup encryption. Deleting the app deletes all of it.

3. Subscriptions

Nourish offers an auto-renewing subscription processed by Apple through your App Store account. We never see your payment details. Apple's handling of purchase data is described in the App Store & Privacy policy. Nourish checks your subscription status on-device via Apple's StoreKit framework.

4. Permissions

  • Camera — used only to scan nutrition labels while you're using the scanner.
  • Photo library — used only when you choose to analyze an existing photo.

5. Reporting a Label

If a label doesn't scan correctly, you can tap Report a problem. That opens your own mail app with the label photo attached — nothing is sent unless you press send, and the app itself still makes no network requests. Photos you choose to email us are used only to improve label recognition, and are never linked to you or shared.

6. Children

Nourish is not directed at children. The nutrition-plan calculator is intended for adults.

7. Changes

If a future version of Nourish ever changes what data is handled (for example, an opt-in cloud feature), this policy will be updated first, and the app's App Store privacy label will reflect it.
